December Rental Update

Summer is traditionally a busy time for Bayleys North Shore’s rental division as the great beaches coupled with the recreational and lifestyle opportunities the area offers tempt people to seek a home on the Shore.
Geri Martin, Bayleys North Shore rental manager, says she expects enquiry levels to soar in coming months as people seek to become established in a home prior to the start of the new school year.
“People are so busy in the lead up to Christmas and the school holidays but then there’s a mad rush to find rental properties as Term 1 approaches! For those people considering renting out their properties, this is a great time to make contact with us as the inevitable flurry of enquiry will soon start,” says Geri.
Nicky Lewis, principal of Quinovic North Harbour who works closely with Geri through an alliance with Bayleys North Shore, says the rental market is currently very active both from a landlord and tenant perspective.
“We are seeing a lot of new property coming on stream to rent and we put this down to a couple of reasons; some people are going overseas for an extended time and choosing to rent their homes out while they are away, while others who may have wished to sell their property are opting to rent it out until they perceive more certainty in the market,” explains Nicky.
“We have also noted a slight upward movement in rents as landlords seek to recover increased outgoings due to the recent hike in GST.”
As always, three/four bedroom family homes in the sought-after East Coast Bay, Birkenhead, Northcote, Takapuna and Milford are needed to add to the rental pool, so please contact Bayleys North Shore’s rental division on 09 487 0635 if you are considering renting out your home.
